S2 E8 Portal: Part One

Robbie and Latanya try to win tickets for a concert through the phone. Her dad doesn’t let her go to the concert. In the attic, Josh and Allen talk about their plans for the portal. Allen shows off his powers with a sock and Manfred. At school, Robbie and Allen talk about the concert. Latanya offers them a chance to get free passes at an event, but she has to skip class to do it, which she does.

Phil Berg shows up to the event and has a “Karen” moment with the guy running the thing over where his car is parked. Allen energizes the map and Josh breaks off a piece. The 2 bike with their energized map fragment, but they run into Rain, who wants to know what’s going on. Robbie and Latanya talk about their plans to win the contest. Josh and Allen break into the Watch the Skies to steal the portal key.

Phil Berg goes after Josh, but lands on a skateboard sending him into a pool of shaving cream, which somehow lets Robbie win the content. Mr. Stevenson grounds Robbie for skipping school. Robbie comes up with some plan to try to get herself ungrounded, but it fails. She tries to have Manfred distract him, which works for a bit.
Josh wants to take a peek at the vortex, but Allen doesn’t let him.

Phil Berg gets paranoid about how his alien artifact (the key) was stolen. Josh leaves the house for the bowling alley, leaving Allen a note. As Josh is riding his bike, he runs into Rain, who’s interested in the key. Mr. Stevenson sees the note Josh left and the window open, so he takes Manfred to the bowling alley. Rain tries to interfere at the alley, but Robbie yells at her. When Josh touches the key, the portal activates and sucks Josh in.

My Allen Strange Story + Show Review

I was born during the original run of the show, so I never had a chance to watch it on TV, and I was a huge fan of Nickelodeon as a kid, but from 11 1/2 and-a-half to 21-and-a-half I didn’t watch it.  I got back into Nick thanks to Drake & Josh, and I haven’t looked back since.  Aside from Allen Strange, I watch Drake & Josh and Double Dare pretty regularly and sometimes iCarly, Victorious, Big Time Rush, Legends of the Hidden Temple and Kenan & Kel when it comes to Nick. I didn’t watch Allen Strange until 2025 because the a lot of the series (including the finale) was lost media and I didn’t want to watch a show with missing episodes, especially if I had no way of knowing how the series was going to end. I made this blog to one, show my appreciation for this great show and two, serve as an archive for the show if it ever gets taken down again. S3 E17 Life of the Party

Allen eats pop rocks with soda, and bubbles of his head form Xelan style. Then the theme plays. Josh needs someone to watch him during Robbie’s track thing, so Allen gets Manfred. They get Mr. Stevenson’s credit card. On the walk home from school, Josh talks to Plato while Hamilton gets nervous when Allen brings up his birthday. Josh talks about throwing a party, which Allen thinks would be good for Hamilton. At home, Manfred blocks the TV screen from Josh and Allen’s video game. After Josh suggests that Manfred try on Mr. Stevenson’s clothes, him and Allen order food from a bunch of places. Mr. Stevenson calls Manfred and he lectures the two boys after they make a mess and are late for school. Allen and Josh hang out with Plato as Josh prepares his gaming thumb. Hamilton comes to the house and is surprised with a birthday cake, which brings back PTSD of a house fire to him and he freaks out. Manfred quickly ends the party, but more people come anyway. Character Review: Robbie Stevenson

  Robbie is a 15 year old girl played by the obscure actress Erin J. Dean.  She’s a surfer, she’s on the track team and she also makes jewelry. Supposedly she has bad grades on the show, to the extent that she was excited to get a B in one episode (I don’t remember which one) because she had never gotten a grade that high in her life, and she was 15. I didn’t see her as stupid. Robbie may not always get along with her brother Josh, and sometimes even Allen, but they always find their way back to each other. The friendship between Robbie and Allen was so close that I was surprised that they didn’t kiss by the end of the show like Aang and Katara did in Avatar’s finale. Robbie has her angry moments and she can usually win an argument, but she’s usually calm and when she’s calm, she’s a friendly and pleasant person. 95% of her actions are on the side of good, and when they aren’t, they’re usually not too bad to begin with.
