S2 E10 The Truth About Lies
Allen and Robbie’s teacher assigns the class a genealogy project. In the attic, the 2 talk about their project and Xelan families. Allen explains that he can’t lie as a Xelan, but Robbie tells him it’s important to save him. As they’re working on the house, Josh finds a family tree and finds a marked out spot, which interests him. At school, Allen tells Robbie about how he’s scared to lie on the report, but she convinces him to do it.
When Allen gives his report, his butt gets bigger when he lies (which I thought was weird) and the teacher catches him lying and wants to see his family on Saturday at 1 PM. Since he has no family aside from Manfred and no family home, Robbie and Allen panic. In the attic, Josh reads about the “bad gene” in the family and thinks his dad is evil.Robbie and Allen go into a house they think is abandoned, but it isn’t. Josh sees his dad hammering and he thinks he’s beating someone with a hammer. The house’s owner, a woman named Merle, gets suspicious of Robbie and Allen but she agrees to let them have the house from 1-3. Josh changes Allen’s address in the school database.
In the woman’s house, the teacher comes over and somehow Manfred is able to fool her into having her believe he’s Allen’s dad, but then Merle comes in and accidentally messes up Allen’s story. Josh asks his dad if he committed any crimes. Manfred’s head comes off and they get it back on him in time, but the teacher gets angry that she feels like she’s being lied to.
Josh finds out that the bad gene went to dad’s evil brother. Merle pulls Allen aside and after he tells her he’s from “far away” agrees to help him make a story up for the teacher. Mr. Stevenson dismisses the evil brother when Josh brings him up. Merle tells a story and the teacher buys it. As thanks, Allen fixes her stained glass window with Xelan powers behind her back. Mr. Stevenson calls his mom but he hangs up.
